Top Ten Tuesday #4; Characters I'd Crush On If I Were Also A Fictional Character

I'd like to thank the girls over at The Broke And The Bookish for hosting this addictive weekly meme.

As you may or may not be aware, beneath all the bluster and criticisms of my reviewer persona lives a fourteen year old fangirl for those swoon-worthy book hotties.  (Which is weird, considering I'm 22.)  This week's Top Ten Tuesday is right up her alley.  Expect gushing and "omg"s coming.

Top Ten Characters I'd Crush On If I Were Also A Fictional Character
Which I'm not, and I still do

  1. Akiva from "Daughter Of Smoke And Bone" - Duh.  Helloooo, I'm known as the DOS&B book-pusher to my blogger friends, and Akiva is a huuuuuge part of the reason for that.  This troubled winged warrior has leapt off of the pages he was born on to become imprinted on my brain, as real to me as any boy I know.
  2. Jericho Barrons from the "Fever" series - At the risk of sounding unfaithful to Akiva, I'm going to admit something that shocks even me here; I wasn't sure Barrons would settle for second. If there was ever a character made to lust over, it's Jericho Barrons.  He is the alpha-male of alpha-males, and he's good at everything he does. For raw sexuality, this man comes out on top of any list I could make.
  3. Etienne St. Clair from "Anna And The French Kiss" - Admittedly pretty far behind Akiva and Barrons, St. Clair has earned his number-3 spot by the addictive romance he brings to the pages of Anna.
  4. Adrian from the "Vampire Academy" series - Though I don't like him in Bloodlines, this Moroi owned the pages of Vampire Academy.  Dimirti, who?
  5. Hunter Niall from the "Sweep" series - As one of my biggest teenage crushes, I couldn't not include Hunter in this list. Wiccan, witch, and British?  Yes, please!
  6. Jean-Claude from the Anita Blake books - I'm admittedly not a fan of the later novels in this series, but Jean-Claude is still a no-brainer addition to this list. He's a vampire to rival Lestat, with better hair and a better wardrobe.
  7. Eric Northman from the Sookie Stackhouse books - The third and last vampire on this list, Eric is the only reason I read as many of those books as I did.  I couldn't stand Sookie herself, but Eric would always show up, steal a scene (and the whole damn book), and reel me in for the next book.
  8. Peeta from "The Hunger Games" - How can you not love the boy with the bread? My favorite part about his romance with Katniss is that it wasn't overly-romanticized to steal the book.  But the scenes between the two were so impossibly sweet that it's still one of my favorite book romances.
  9. Jack from "Everneath" - The hero for every guy/girl stuck in The Friendzone.  Jack and Nikki's love is epic, but if Nikki loses her senses and chooses Cole, I'll be right there to, um..."console" Jack.
  10. Lan from "The Wheel Of Time" - Okay so he's not exactly the romantic interest you'd think would evoke the fangirl reaction, but he totally did.  He stole my heart with one line; “I will hate the man you choose because he isn't me, and love him if he makes you smile.” Awww!
So there you have it, my top ten fictional crushes!  I love them all, and be warned; I am willing to fight over every one of them. There will be eye-gouging involved if it comes to the first two.

What are some book hotties you've fangirled (or boy'd) over?  Share in the comments, or link to your TTT if you have one so I can show your blog some love!

  1. I liked Cricked better than St. Clair as a love interest. He does have some good qualities, but he can have moments of pretentiousness, I think. Either way, Stephanie Perkins writes great books.

    1. He's from Lola, right? I still need to read that! I don't know what's taking me so long, I loved Anna in the face. I think that's actually the problem; I'm terrified Lola won't live up to my expectations after reading Anna lol.

      Thanks for the comment!

  2. I totally swoon over Akiva as well. *sigh*

    1. If I were stuck on a deserted island with just one other person, I'd choose to bring my DOS&B books instead. THAT'S how much I adore Akiva.

  3. I thought about adding Akiva to my list- but I read Daughter of Smoke and bone so long ago that it felt wrong. I desperately need to get on Days of Blood and Starlight.

    Happy reading.

    1. Yes you do!!!! It is so much different than Daughter Of Smoke And Bone. Darker, for sure. Not as big on the romance. But still an amazing read!

  4. Well, out of all of those books, I have only read The Hunger Games, and I HATED Peeta. This is awkward...

Now for my list! I will not stick to just books, deal with it:

    1. Fox from the Dark Knight Movies
    2. Dr. Cameron McCarthey from Dolphin Tale
    3. Carter from The Bucket List
    4. God from Bruce Almighty
    5. Sam from Unleashed
    6. Detectice Lt. William Somerset from Se7en
    7. Ellis Boyd 'Red' Redding from The Shawshank Redemption

I think that about covers it. All movies. The observant among you will get the theme. :)

    1. I have seen...none of them. So, yeah. Time to revoke my Cool Card?

Oh wait! I've seen Dark Knight! Totally forget who Fox is, though.

      Delete
    2. The fact that you missed that all of those roles are played by Morgan Freeman is reason enough to revoke your Cool Card. You not seeing Shawshank, doubly so.

      Delete
    3. Morgan...Freeman? *scratches head*

Psyche, I know who he is. The dude with the voice. He was in that movie with the martial arts dude and the blind girl that played the piano.

      Yeah, and there's a reason I don't have a movie blog....

      Delete
    4. I'd give up my heterosexual existence for that man. Just because of his voice.

And the movie you are referring to is Unleashed. It's on the list. He was damn hot in it.

Morgan Freeman, the embodiment of hot, the subject of every fantasy I've had since I was 10, is even my name sake! When I had to choose a name, I instantly knew that Freeman would be perfect. Just like the Mexican seem to name every other kid after Jesus, I named myself after God.

Now, excuse me. I need to look up shirtless pictures of him on Google.

  5. Oh, I love Jack! Great pick! And yes, St. Clair is showing up about as much as Mr. Darcy. He's so swoony. :) Great list!

  8. I'm still trying to get over the shock of seeing Lan from WoT on here. I mean NOBODY I ever talk to has read that series. And so now I'm fangirling here because I adore Lan and Nynaeve so much :)

But then not only that you pick Adrian over Dimitri?

Best. Top. Ten. Period. (Okay putting away my inner 14 year old..)

    1. So you get a truckful of cool points for even knowing who Lan is. I absolutely love him! Even more than Gawyn, and I do love me some Gawyn.

Dimitri's got the hair over Adrian, but that's about it. Snarky, troubled vampires are my favorite kind. ;)

Thank you so, so much, Sheri! Your comment made my day! :D

  9. I haven't read any of these books since The Hunger Games. Fail. But I will say Peeta is a sweetie. I went back and forth between him and Gale like the indecisive person I am, (but finally chose Peeta. (Oh wait, does that make me like one of those horrible MCs who can't make up her mind in a love triangle? Whoops! :P)

And don't worry. I think there's a 14 yr old fangirl hidden inside me too. I think she usually is too busy hoping for a NSYNC reunion to cause me too much trouble. ;)

    1. I've always been Peeta's girl, but I do love Gale, too. Just means Collins did her triangle the right way.

Hahaha well, N'Sync beats Justin Bieber. Any day of the week.

  10. Yay, you're fighting for the first two & that means I can have Peeta! Oh yes it does :D I've blogged about him being my book boyfriend before after all...
Yes, I've fangirled over Peeta (and Josh) enough. Do I have to fanboy over Patrick from Perks as he isn't straight? I didn't fangirl like I normally do... I'm too like 'I wanna give Charlie a hug!' He's my book brother BTW... normal, I know!
Box, Sean, Xavier, Jason & Ryan are my main other guys I fangirl over. Like a lunatic. I actually turn into a marshmallow (or rather, even more of a marshmallow- basically a bucket of 'em).
Here's where I gushed about guys that are MINE:

    1. Well, as long as you don't interfere with my Akiva/Barrons love, I guess I can give you Peeta haha. I love Patrick! I want to see him in the movie soooo bad! And I also am totally sisterly over Charlie lol.

You're not a lunatic. I'm a 22 year old marshmallow, what does that make me?

Thanks, Amy! I will definitely check out your list!

    2. Thanks for commenting on mine :D In the film I get distracted as he reminds me of a guy I know... They're like practically twins or something (in looks and a tad of personality). Whereas Charlie, if I knew a guy that had a personality like him I wouldn't care if he wasn't the most attractive guy ever! Most tend to think Josh is hot but I like Peeta for the books too... I swear! Most don't know Box Tuesday *gets to keep him*
You can be 22 & a marshmallow! My future looks great! With Peeta too! Nice Kelly (:

    1. I saw him first in the film cos I was naughty & didn't read FIRST. I think the reason I really like him is how he was portrayed in the book... I'll admit that Josh did a fantastic job though. And good news for us (basically, Jen) we don't have to be fictional to have amazing guys around us... :D

      Delete
    2. Really? I've heard that a lot lol, I feel like Amy and I are the only ones who liked him better in the books. But I do love Josh. That whole cast is amazing.

      Thanks, Annabelle!

  16. OK, now I really have to get to the Fever series. All you really need to tell me in your reviews is how hot the guy is, everything after that is a bonus. LOL.

    1. Gah, Barrons OWNED the Fever series! V'lane, who? Christian, what? I have chapters in those books with considerably more reading wear just because I had to go back and reread my favorite Barrons moments. Over and over again.

I love Jack, he's like the perfect boyfriend. And I feel your pain, ten is such an unfairly small number to be able to include in this list lol.
