Top Ten Tuesday - Series I'd Like To Start But Haven't Yet

This is my first ever book meme, so I apologize if I do something wrong.  I'm sure most of you don't know this, but I'm pretty much technologically-challenged - which means I suck at basically anything that requires a computer until I've had a lot of practice at it.  I'm pretty excited, though, because this week's looks like a lot of fun!

Top Ten Series I'd Like To Start But Haven't Yet
(because the best titles are in purple)
  1. "The Lotus Wars" by Jay Kristoff - I have heard so many good things about Stormdancer and its author that I am itching with anticipation.  This book is currently on its way to me via Amazon, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to turn into a temporary hermit until I've finished it when it finally gets here.
  2. "Under The Never Sky" by Veronica Rossi - I haven't been as enthusiastic as some about the new post-Hunger Games crop of dystopian YA, but I have the feeling that this will be as amazing as everyone says.
  3. "Just One Day" by Gayle Forman - Has contemporary romance always been so good?  I don't know, but some of my favorite recent reads have been contemporaries.  Just One Day seems like the perfect book to continue that streak.
  4. "Delirium" by Lauren Oliver - Ever since I was informed that this is in production to be a television series, I knew I had to get my nerdy little hands on it.  I'm one of those people who always has to read the book before I see its transition to the screen.
  5. "Lux" by Jennifer L. Armentrout - I don't know a whole lot about this series, but a few raving reviews from some very trusted bloggers have put it high on my To-Read list.
  6. "The Lunar Chronicles" by Marissa Meyer - Cyborg Cinderella?  This is either going to go very wrong, or very right.  I'm curious enough to take that gamble.
  7. "The Archived" by Victoria Schwab - Gorgeous cover, interesting premise, rave reviews, gracious author...need I go on?  The question here should be, Why haven't I started it yet?
  8. "Kingslayer Chronicles" by Patrick Rothfuss - I've been wanting to read this for the longest.  Epic fantasy done right just can't be beat sometimes, and I have high hopes that Kingslayer Chronicles will help scratch the itch that The Wheel Of Time started a decade ago.
  9. "Valkyrie Rising" by Ingrid Paulson - Another book that's been on my list for awhile now.  This has been read and loved by a couple of reviewers whose opinions I trust more than my own sometimes.
  10. "The Hollows" by Kim Harrison - How many nerd points do I lose if I admit that I've had this book for a couple of years now, but...lost it until last week?  I've been on a bit of an urban fantasy binge lately, and Kim Harrison is another powerhouse in the genre whose world I want to be introduced to.

Whew!  Only ten?  When I started this list, I wasn't sure I'd be able to think of ten series I'm dying to read but haven't started yet (though there are quite a few stand-alones), but now that I made the list I can't believe how many I had to leave out!

I have to admit, I was a tad skeptical about adding a meme to my blog, but now I'm glad I did!  This was so much fun.  If you haven't yet, head on over to The Broke And The Bookish and find out how to start participating in Top Ten Tuesdays yourself!

    1. Thanks! I really like this meme, too. I'll definitely be posting more.

I don't know what it is about it, but I am seriously excited about Stormdancer. It just looks so wonderfully weird and original. As soon as I saw this week's topic, that's the first book that popped into my head.

  2. If there is one meme that I tend to respond to each week, it is this one. It tends to ensure that I post regularly and visit other bloggers. I like that.

Here's my list of Top Ten Series I'd Like to Read.

  3. Welcome to the meme! I share a few of these unstarted series with you, but I must tell you to drop everything and read Delirium right now. Seriously.

    1. Lol you wouldn't be the first. I'm starting to really think I should take that advice. Originally, I just wanted to read it before the show debuts, but I'll probably bump it up to within the next couple of weeks.

  4. Hey, welcome to the meme! I wasn't sure about adding a meme to my blog either, but I absolutely love this one - it's always fun :-) Love your list. I really want to read Stormdancer, and the Lunar Chronicles too, have heard so much about them!

    1. Yeah, I've always been afraid of bogging my blog down with too many memes, so I knew I had to be picky. This one really did look like the most fun, relevant, and interractive.

      Thanks so much!

    1. Cinder's one of those books whose premise is too interesting to not check out. Plus I've heard a lot of good things about it. The Archived is one I jut have to get my hands on. I'm kind of waiting, though, so I won't have to wait as long between The Archived and its sequel. Too many cliffhangers have left me chewing my fingernails for months lol.

    2. The Archived doesn't have a cliffhanger!
(I just had to respond to that) :P

      Yay!

  10. DEFINITELY read 1,2,3,4, and 7. I really want number 6 because I've heard great things.
Valkyrie Rising is fantastic! You should read that too. Though I have to say that as of this moment, it's just a stand alone. Ingrid Paulson hasn't made any announcement that I know of about it potentially being a series. Ha. But it's still awesome. ;) *whispers* I hope it becomes a series, or gets a sequel... or something.

Anyways. Love ya! Great list! :)

    1. Oh? I added it on GR and it said "Valkyrie #1" and books like that do tend to come in series, so I kinda just assumed.

      I think 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 were all recommendations from you :p

  11. I started the meme this week too & have enjoyed it as much as you seem to :). Delerium is one of my favourite series ever, enjoy.
I forgot about 'Just one day'', it should have made my list too.

    1. I have a few I forgot about while I was making this list, like Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi and Pivot Point by Kasie West. It's amazing how many awesome books there are out there that we still haven't gotten to read yet.

Yay, another TTT newbie! I feel slightly less behind the times now. :) Haha

Thanks so much for the comment!

    1. Thanks for the follow back, Dabin! I don't think I've read a single negative review for Just One Day yet, and very few for Lux or Under The Never Sky. Is it sad that the main reason I'd want to be rich is so I could afford as many books as I wanted, whenever I wanted? There are just so many unread gems out there. I want to touch them...or something slightly less creepy....

As you may or may not know, life is eating up way too much of my spare time right now, so pretty please don't hate me if it takes me a few days to get back to your wonderful comments. I read each and every one from my phone, and they always make my day. <3
